Commonly asked questions...
What age group is appropriate for Jr. Lifeguard Camp?
Anyone between the ages of 8 and 14 is welcome to attend.
Where do I drop my child off?
Drop off will be at the front gate of Weeki Wachee Springs State Park everyday of the camp from 9 a.m. A lifeguard will be present with the campers to ensure a safe transition.
Does my child have to bring his or her own lunch?
Lunch can be purchased at one of our cafes for $4.50. This will include chicken strips, cheeseburger, hamburger, or hot dog with chips and a drink. Jr. Guards will have to show proof of ID because this is a discounted price.
Can my child stay after the camp is over?
The campers are welcome to stay after 4 p.m., but they will not be supervised by camp instructors any longer. They will be notified when they can begin shadowing lifeguards, usually the fourth day of camp. Until that point, they are viewed as guests of the park. Buccaneer Bay closes at 5 p.m.
What should my child bring to camp?
Two towles everyday, swimsuit, sunglasses, sunscreen, T-shirt and a hat.
When is payment due?
You must pay by the first day of camp. We recommend you pay prior to avoid complications.
If you are interested in ordering a Jr. Lifeguard swimsuit, please notify us when you submit your application. The price is $30 and the suit can be worn during the camp and for the duration of the season.
